The SLM libraries are reopening their gates on 27 July 2020!
After a long break during the lockdown caused by the global Covid-19 pandemic, the SLM libraries in the Überseering 35 facility will reopen their reading rooms under certain conditions.
Students and other members and staff of the University of Hamburg can book a seat in the reading rooms from 10 AM to 12:45 PM or from 1 PM to 3:45 PM by contacting bibromanistik@uni-hamburg.de for the libraries of Linguistics, Romance and Finno-Ugrian Studies and bibliothekslm@uni-hamburg.de for the libraries of German, Slavonic, English and Media Studies.
Wearing face masks continues to be mandatory everywhere in the libraries except while seated at the working place. In order to use the scanners, it is compulsory to disinfect your hands first. Unfortunately, neither the photocopiers nor the lockers are available, but it is allowed to bring jackets and bags into the reading rooms as long as the staff can check them before leaving the library.
It is of course still possible to reserve documents and media online or by contacting the e-mail addresses mentioned above. The items can be picked up on weekdays from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Further information can be found on the libraries‘ website.
