Academic English Writing for the Humanities, Part 1: Getting started [DIGITAL]
Monday, August 17 @ 10:00 - 13:30
This offer is for students and PhD candidates with English writing projects.
Do you need to submit a term paper in English this semester? Are you working on an essay, an article, a research proposal, or a thesis in English? This four-part workshop series especially for students of humanities could be the place for you to get trained language-teacher guidance on how to approach this daunting project, from dealing with English-language sources to structuring a paper that meets Anglo-Saxon expectations to formulating clear, coherent English sentences.
This workshop takes place online, within a course on OpenOLAT. Some elements may be synchronous, using Zoom. Students registered via STiNE will be automatically added to the OpenOLAT course list once they have signed in on the platform using their B-Kennung. Anyone who cannot register through STiNE is invited to contact the instructor directly. If you cannot see the whole course right away, that only means that it is not yet opened for your group. Please watch your STiNE-mail for specific details and check again shortly before the scheduled workshop time.
Part 1. Getting started on your research papers: finding a topic, drafting a thesis, asking the right questions, and looking for the answers!
